In samenwerking met 3 externe ziekenhuizen werd de Brussels Imaging Pharmacy (BIP) opgericht, een gecentraliseerde productiesite van PET radiofarmaca gevestigd op de campus van het UZ Brussel in Jette. Met een nieuw geïnstalleerd cyclotron en een GMP-faciliteit produceren we radiofarmaca voor patiënten van de partnerziekenhuizen.

Als academische instelling zijn we voortdurend in ontwikkeling en willen we onze bijdrage aan klinisch wetenschappelijk onderzoek verder versterken. BIP speelt hierin een sleutelrol want hier wordt de studiemedicatie zorgvuldig en volgens strikte kwaliteitsnormen (GMP) geproduceerd.”

We zoeken een productieassistent om het BIP team te versterken, met een focus op klinische studie bereidingen en ondersteuning van het kwaliteitsteam.

Hoe maak jij het verschil?

Je staat in het productieteam in voor de uitvoering, coördinatie, data-management, organisatie en opvolging van de klinische studie bereidingen en je biedt ondersteuning aan het kwaliteitsteam.

Je fungeert als schakel tussen BIP en de onderzoeksgroepen die betrokken zijn bij de ontwikkeling en preklinische evaluatie van nieuwe radiofarmaca. Je volgt nieuwe producties en analytische methoden op binnen de onderzoekslaboratoria, evalueert hun toepasbaarheid binnen een GMP-omgeving en ondersteunt de implementatie, optimalisatie en validatie van deze processen binnen BIP

Taken en verantwoordelijkheden

  • Je organiseert, coördineert en ondersteunt het BIP team in taken en activiteiten gerelateerd aan klinische studieprojecten. Je houdt het overzicht op de status van verschillende lopende studies en planning. Je stemt verschillende projecten op elkaar af in nauwe samenwerking met de productie- en QC-verantwoordelijken en het kwaliteitsteam.
  • Je bent nauw betrokken bij de opstart van nieuwe processen in het kader van klinische studies (bv. de uitwerking van productieprocessen ism met de productieverantwoordelijke, kwaliteitscontroles ism de QC-verantwoordelijke), evenals bij de validatie testen en de uitvoering van deze.
  • Je fungeert als schakel tussen BIP en de onderzoeksgroepen die betrokken zijn bij de ontwikkeling en preklinische evaluatie van nieuwe radiofarmaca. Je volgt nieuwe producties en analytische methoden op binnen de onderzoeks-laboratoria, evalueert hun toepasbaarheid binnen een GMP-omgeving en ondersteunt de implementatie, optimalisatie en validatie van deze processen binnen BIP
  • Je vormt het aanspreekpunt voor de operatoren en de project manager. Je zorgt voor een goede communicatie met de sponsor.
  • Je zorgt voor een nauwkeurige voorbereiding en voert de taken en activiteiten mbt bereiding, kwaliteitscontrole en data management van studieproducten uit volgens vooraf opgestelde procedures, werkinstructies en specificaties onder de geldende richtlijnen voor Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Hiernaast leid je ook andere medewerkers op en ondersteunt bij het uitvoeren van studieproducties.
  • Je maakt steriele bereidingen en voert de analyses uit met HPLC, TLC, endotoxinentesten, ..
  • Je werkt actief mee aan het schrijven van procedures en werkinstructies.
  • Je houdt het overzicht op het stockbeheer van studiemateriaal in samenspraak met de stockverantwoordelijke, voor het plaatsen en ontvangen van bestellingen
  • Je ondersteunt het kwaliteitsteam bij praktische taken, project batch record review, trending, monitoring en aanverwante activiteiten
  • Je leert ook beperkte routine activiteiten binnen het BIP operationeel team aan, zodat je voor ondersteuning kan zorgen zo nodig

Welke collega zoeken we? 

  • Je hebt een diploma van professionele bachelor of master met (bio)medische, farmaceutische of chemische achtergrond
  • Je werkt nauwkeurig, kwaliteitsbewust en hebt een groot verantwoordelijkheidsgevoel
  • Je kan ordelijk, stipt en hygiënisch werken
  • Je bent een teamplayer, maar je kan ook zelfstandig taken tot een goed einde brengen met zin voor initiatief

  • Je bent betrouwbaar, communicatief en stressbestendig en je hebt een goed organisatievermogen
  • Je hebt ervaring met het werken in een cleanroom, de technieken vermeld in de jobomschrijving of je bent bereid deze aan te leren
  • Je wil werken met radioactieve verbindingen en je bent bereid om bijkomende opleidingen te volgen in het kader van GMP en stralingsbescherming
  • Je bent flexibel ingesteld m.b.t. werkuren (variabel uurrooster) en het uitvoeren van de taken
  • Goede kennis van Nederlands en Engels. Kennis van het Frans is een pluspunt
  • Kennis van computer en courante software

Become our new product assistant for PET Radiopharmacy

In collaboration with three external hospitals, the Brussels Imaging Pharmacy (BIP) was established as a centralized PET radiopharmaceutical production site located on the UZ Brussel campus in Jette. With a newly installed cyclotron and a GMP-compliant facility, we produce radiopharmaceuticals for patients at our partner hospitals.

As an academic institution, we are continuously evolving and aim to further strengthen our contribution to clinical scientific research. BIP plays a key role in this mission by carefully producing investigational medicinal products according to strict quality standards (GMP).

We are looking for a Production Assistant to strengthen the BIP team, with a focus on clinical trial preparations and support for the Quality team.

What the role entails

As part of the production team, you will be responsible for the execution, coordination, data management, organization, and follow-up of clinical trial preparations, while also supporting the Quality team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Organize, coordinate, and support the BIP team in tasks and activities related to clinical trial projects. You maintain an overview of the status and planning of multiple ongoing studies and align different projects in close collaboration with Production, Quality Control (QC), and Quality team leads.
  • Play an active role in the implementation of new processes for clinical studies, including (development of production processes together with the head of Production, development of quality control methods together with the QC Manager, participation in validation testing and execution of validation activities)
  • You will act as a link between BIP and the research groups involved in the development and preclinical evaluation of new radiopharmaceuticals. You will monitor new production and analytical methods within the research laboratories, assess their suitability for use in a GMP environment, and support the implementation, optimisation and validation of these processes within BIP
  • Act as the main point of contact for operators and the Project Manager, ensuring effective communication with study sponsors.
  • Prepare and carry out activities related to the preparation, quality control, and data management of investigational products according to established procedures, work instructions, and specifications, in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines. You will also train colleagues and support study production activities.
  • Prepare sterile products and perform analytical testing using techniques such as: HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography), TLC (Thin-Layer Chromatography), Endotoxin testing, other analytical methods
  • Actively contribute to writing procedures and work instructions.
  • Monitor inventory management of study materials in consultation with the stock manager, including placing and receiving orders.
  • Support the Quality team with practical tasks, batch record review for projects, trending, monitoring, and related activities.
  • Learn selected routine operational activities within the BIP team to provide support when needed.

What are we looking for

  • Bachelor's or Master degree in with a Chemistry, Biomedical or Pharmaceutical background
  • Accurate, quality-focused, and highly responsible.
  • Able to work in an organized, punctual, and hygienic manner.
  • A team player who can also work independently and show initiative.
  • Proactive attitude with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Reliable, communicative, stress-resistant, and well organized.
  • Experience working in a cleanroom and/or with the techniques mentioned above, or willingness to learn.
  • Interested in working with radioactive compounds and willing to follow additional training in GMP and radiation protection.
  • Flexible regarding working hours (variable schedule) and tasks.
  • Good knowledge of English; knowledge of Dutch and French is an asset.
  • Proficient with computers and standard software applications.
